Short description

WerkTakt is time tracking for freelancers on the Mac: one click in the menu bar starts the clock, ⌃⌥T switches projects from any app, and at the end of the month you get a timesheet that’s right to the cent. Local, no account, no subscription.

Long description

WerkTakt is the first Mac app by Salzburg-based developer Thomas Feichtinger – time tracking designed to feel like a good tool: always at hand, precise and never in the way. WerkTakt lives in the menu bar; one click starts and stops the timer, and a day ruler shows the working day like a measuring instrument.

The ⌃⌥T shortcut switches projects from any app. The Journal reviews a week, month, year or custom range, including billable revenue and effective hourly rate. Hourly rate, rounding and budget are set per project, and WerkTakt turns them into a PDF timesheet whose amounts match the invoice exactly.

All data stays on the Mac – no account, no mandatory cloud, no tracking, no subscription. A daily backup to a folder of your choice, such as iCloud Drive, protects against data loss. WerkTakt is a one-time purchase on the Mac App Store.
